How many times have you thought about the value of a good maintenance program while you watch the technicians
change the oil in your car? How often have you paid the HVAC Contractor for "preventative" maintenance on your facility's air conditioning equipment?Knights' Electric, Inc.'s TEGG Services
is sure that in both of the above scenarios you have been presented with an additional charge for some "item" that was discovered while performing these services, and gladly paid it, realizing that you have an investment that must be protected in order to perform as it was intended.
Why should your electrical system be any different? This system of circuit breakers, conductors, plugs and switches works 24/7 to support your needs and requirements, yet we don't
realize it's importance until it malfunctions, or worse yet, causes an equipment loss or fire. These infrared photos show graphically, the stress and strain that we put on a typical
electrical system every day. When we see the demand and expectations of these systems, we begin to recognize the importance of a good quality electrical maintenance program such as
Knights' Electric's TEGG Preventative Maintenance Program. Customers worldwide have averted major building loss and equipment repairs by participating in this sensible program. So
the next time you turn on your air conditioner or switch on those lights think about the system that delivers the power to make them run. Consider the benefit of knowing that this
everyday system has been maintained to perform to your expectations in the way it was intended. |

Knights' Electric, Inc. has completed work on another boutique winery, Dutcher Crossing Winery, on Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg. The Dry Creek Valley appellation, famous for its Zinfandel, is still growing with new wineries along Dry
Creek Road. Knights' Electric recently completed work on Mauritson Family Winery a few miles up the road. |
|
Boschetti Construction was the general contractor for Dutcher Crossing Winery. It is the first winery that Pete
Boschetti has built. Boschetti construction also built a custom home on the winery property for one of the owners. Boschetti Construction has built a number of high-end custom homes
in Sonoma County. |

Dutcher Crossing Winery was a design/build
project for Knights' Electric. Knights' Electric completed the electrical from the ground up including power distribution, wiring of the mechanical room, lighting and power stanchions,
which Knights' Electric manufactures. Knights' Electric will supply power to the crush area with power stanchions and outlets for the portable crush equipment that will be used in the
fall. |

Knights' Electric installed a

lighting control system in the tasting room. The system provides 4 zones that can be separately programmed to create different lighting "scenes" with preset dimming and varying degrees of brightness and different combinations of lights used to set the mood lighting.

Boschetti Construction and Knights' Electric worked directly with the winery owners on the lighting design.
"Lithonia Lighting, the supply house, sent a rep out to the winery and it helped us with our choices," said Boschetti. |
|
Boschetti was happy with the outcome of his first winery venture, "I really enjoyed it. We had a great group of
people working with us. I'd like to do more winery work. In a lot of ways this was easier than a lot of the houses I've built." |

When homes that have flooded or damaged by fire are rebuilt sometimes there is a substantial portion of the
structure that does not need to be rebuilt or replaced. This is also true for utilities including the electrical system of the home. The existing electrical wire system must pass
testing to be reused in the remodeling of the fire or flood damaged structure. Insurance companies require this testing and it must be accurately documented and pass their
requirements for reuse.Knights' Electric, Inc.'s residential department
has performed this electrical testing with a Megohmmeter that tests the integrity of the wiring and the insulation of the wires for fire and flood damaged homes by sending out high voltage over the entire wiring system in the structure.
"We may be the only electrical contractor in the area that use the digital megohmmeter," says Matt Sweeney, Knights Electric's Residential Project Manager, "Our digital megohmmeter testing unit has software that produces a written report with
results of the meg test." Most companies use the old-style hand crank unit, which does the job but there is no detailed report like the digital unit software produces. A copy of
the report typically goes to the homeowner, the utility company and the insurance company. Knights' Electric recently used the megohmmeter for a home that had been
partially damaged by a fire. The wiring did not pass the test and had to be replaced as part of the remodeling of the home. The insurance company needed the test results to justify
paying for the new wiring. So whether the megohmmeter test passes or fails it's a winning situation because the result is a wiring system with the integrity to insure a safer home.
