Last summer during the July heat wave that brought record temperatures to the North Bay Eric Moessing, Head
Administrator at Park View Gardens, had a big problem. The power went out at the long-term care facility that he manages. "We got out the Yellow Pages and started calling
electrical contractors," says Moessing, "We had three companies come out to look at the problem." |
|
The main power panel was out and with 116 residents living at Park View Gardens time was critical. "The
temperature was 109 degrees that day and two of the electricians from two companies said we needed to replace the panel. With the air conditioning off I was considering evacuating all
of our residents," says Moessing, "then Knights' Electric showed up and their electrician (Ben English) said he thought he might be able to get the power back on." |

Ben English, a journeyman with over twenty five years of experience, knew what to do. English
opened the circuit breakers, reset the trip units, closed everything up and was able to restore power to the facility. "He really saved the day for us," says Moessing. Now Park View Gardens has
Knights' Electrics' TEGG Service
working at the facility to test and evaluate their entire electrical system and produce a report with recommendations and repairs for the facility."We are going to have Knights'
Electric install a back up generator for our air conditioning units," says Moessing. "In the case of another power failure the generator will be able to power enough of the air
conditioning units to cool the facility efficiently until full power can be restored," says English, who Moessing referred to as "the hero of the heat wave." |

Knights' Electric, Inc. has been involved in the construction of the Shomrei Torah Temple from the ground up and
now the lighting phase of the project is beginning. On the Bennett Valley Road entrance Knights' Electric has recently installed three overhead light poles. Soon Knights' will be
installing 32 parking lot lights and the finale will be a spectacular lighting design in the temple's sanctuary where the congregation will eventually be meeting. |
|
Knights' Electric started the project by bringing power from the PG&E vault on the far side of Bennett
Valley Road under the pavement and 400 feet up the hillside to the main transformer. Knights' Electric also ran conduits to the adjacent school site for future solar panel
construction on the hillside as part of phase two of the project, which will be the construction of the school. |

Knights' Electric will soon begin to rough in the surface, cove and recessed lighting for the sanctuary and they
will be installing a Lutron lighting system
to control the lighting zones and lighting scenes. Knights' Electric will also be installing the conduit and junction boxes for future theatrical lighting. "The building is a piece of art," says
Richard Freitas, Knights' Electric's project manager for the temple. |
|
Oliver & Company is the general contractor for this project and Knights Electric has worked with them many times. Oliver Ranch and Walden Studios
are some of the previous projects Knights' Electric has worked on and they are currently working with Oliver & Company on the new Bolinas Fire Station. |

This home, like many in Mayacama, is of the Tuscan style. Knights' Electric will be installing a Lutron HomeWorks lighting system and an audio visual system for the home that will include a video server to store movies for viewing on demand. |
|
Mayacama is located adjacent to Shiloh Estates and it includes a world class private golf course that all of the homeowners belong to as members. Knights' Electric has worked with Total Concepts previously on a custom home in West
Sonoma County. Scott Cameron, Knights' Electric's Residential Project Manager, says, "Working with Total Concepts has been a pleasant experience. The company
is very detail oriented. The superintendents are very good at giving us advanced notice and when we ask them a question they get back to us quickly. Francisco Henningson, the
superintendent on this project, is on top of everything, as was Mark Rechin on the last job we did with Total Concepts." |
