“I get comfort knowing I have (Knights’ Electric’s) TEGG, says Sue Lyon, Property Manager for Sleepy Hollow Management, owner and manager of Fountaingrove Corporate Centre located at 3510 Unocal Place off Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa. The building is a three-story, 60,000 square foot multi-tenant structure.  “When TEGG does an infrared test it shows if we have any problems”, says Lyon, “with a twenty year old building that’s really important.”

Another property manager, Jennifer Sibley of Selway Management, Inc. had this to say about Knights’ Electric’s TEGG Service, “When I Call TEGG, they come right out, get me an estimate and make the repair quickly.  Mike Saitone always calls me or emails me to keep me up to date, that way I can let my tenants know when they can expect repairs.”

Lace House Linen

Dan Libarle, of Lace House Linen says, “(Knights’ Electric’s) TEGG has done two inspections so far.  We like to stay on top of things.  In case there’s a problem they can fix it before it becomes major.”

Stony Point Quarry

“In the long run (Knights’ Electric’s) TEGG will definitely pay off”, says Charlie Young, Project Manager at Mark West Quarry.  Young, formerly the Site Manager at Stony Point Rock Quarry, had this to say about that facility, “If something does go wrong we have TEGG to service the problem and they can also see through a problem that’s coming and fix it before it actually happens.  At the peak production during the summer with two shifts running we can’t afford any down time.”

Silver Oak Cellars, which has estate wineries in Alexander Valley and Oakville, is completing the construction of a tank and barrel storage expansion project in Healdsburg.  The general contractor on the project is JSM Construction of Santa Rosa and Knights’ Electric, Inc. is the electrical contractor.

The new building, which has offices and a mezzanine, is 19,800 square feet and stands next to an existing barrel storage room that’s 18,000 square feet.  The buildings accommodate the Silver Oak Cellars winery in Alexander Valley just north of Geyserville.

Knights’ Electric upgraded the main electrical service that powers both buildings and installed new power distribution panels and fluorescent high bay lighting for the new building.  Knights’ Electric also installed the field power and control wiring for the refrigeration system, night air cooling system and condensation system.

Although this is not a winemaking facility, Knights’ Electric manufactured and installed 6 pump stanchions to help move wine in and out of barrels.

JSM Construction, a seven year old company, is owned by Pepe Martinez, who was the superintendent for this project.  His sons Ryan and Justin also work for JSM.  “The project went really well”, says Martinez.  “Knights’ Electric is easy to work with; everything they did looks very clean.  Brad Meier (electrician) did a fine job.  I’ve known Art (Knight) and Rob (Knight) for years – I’ve worked with Knights’ in the past and it’s always worked out well.”

Pad Mount Transformers -
Boosting Power and Saving Money

Pad Mount Transformer   If you are planning to build your custom dream home or are just thinking about the day you might – a pad mount transformer might be in your future.  “Architects don’t necessarily think about bringing in power to a custom home, so it’s usually not spelled out in the plans”, says Scott Cameron, Knights’ Electric’s residential Project Manager.
Residential pad mount transformers are
recognizable by their green color

“PG&E typically likes to bring their power to the front gate of a country estate, which is also where they like to install the meter to make it easy to read, and in most cases that’s a long way from the home.”

The distance between the PG&E power source and the home can be costly to install with just wire.  “If the distance is over 1,000 feet you would need numerous parallel runs of larger gauge wire and still run the risk of power loss because of the distance”, says Cameron.  “A more viable option to boost the voltage would be to install one transformer near the source and run a smaller single wire to the second transformer near the home.”

Pad Mount Transformer Installation A residential pad mount transformer can deliver 4,160 volts of power.  “That power is high enough to reduce voltage drop and easy enough to work with safely’, says Cameron, ‘It also makes sense budget wise with transformers instead of multiple runs of large wire, which is also very labor intensive.”  Pad mount transformers could be a smart solution for powering your custom dream home.
