As TEGG Service
technicians, Krepper and Sperbeck will receive special training in electrical safety. On-site they will be equipped with arc flash suits and hoods, fire retardant uniforms, high-voltage gloves and insulated tools. The highest safety precautions and procedures are used during an inspection of electrical distribution equipment.
|
|
The TEGG Service sales representative
from Knights' Electric, working with the customer, compiles a list of equipment from the facility for the technicians to use for testing. The test results are entered into a software program that is given to the customer for future reference and maintenance monitoring. The software contains solutions and repair recommendations for the facility's electrical system. The facility management can then decide what solutions and repairs will be authorized.

Making and selling premium wines is the lifeblood of any successful winery and when your market is worldwide and
operates 24 hours a day the means to achieve success must operate at a top-notch clip. The means for conducting national and international sales for Rodney Strong Vineyards is their computer network. |
|
Knights' Electric, Inc. is in the process of completing work to create a dedicated power source for the computer
network at Rodney Strong Vineyards. The new power system will omit radio frequency interference that can disrupt computer functions and transmissions. |

|
Ben English, Knights' Electric's commercial project manager, is supervising the job, "We've installed a
208-volt, 750 KVA Transformer for noise filtration to the computer network and a 45 KW generator for back-up power," says English, "we're also replacing the old overhead wiring with
underground conduit and new wiring from the transformer to the 2000-amp main service that powers the building." |
|
Inside the building Knights' Electric has installed a UPS (uninterrupted power service) transfer switch and
power conditioners to remove power spikes and surges and deliver a clean power flow to the computer network. The overall improvements from this electrical project will give Rodney
Strong Vineyards a more efficient computer network. A safer more reliable underground conduit path will replace the old overhead wiring outside. |

|
Knights' Electric's residential department
has worked on numerous upscale custom home projects in Marin County with Hadley Construction, Inc. They are nearing completion on a remodeling project in Marin that included a new lighting system throughout the home.
|
|
Matt Sweeney, Knights' Electric's Residential Project Manager, designed the
Lutron HomeWorks
lighting system for the home, "From the set of plans, which had standard gangs of wall switches, we laid out a series of keypads in strategic locations throughout the home that control lighting, dimming and programmable combinations of lights to create "scenes" that can also be controlled with timers." The home has approximately 100 Juno low-voltage recessed lighting fixtures.

Knights' Electric also installed occupancy sensors for closets and storage spaces like the kitchen pantries,
which light these areas only when they are in use. This energy saving feature will become part of the Title 24 guidelines after October 1, 2005. Homeowners will have choices between
these types of sensors and/or dimmers in place of less popular energy saving fluorescent lighting. |
|
Knights' Electric also installed a Leviton Structured Media Center
for the phone, TV and data networking systems, and they installed speakers, amplifiers and an infrared receiver for handheld remote controls. In the bathroom Nuheat radiant floor heating system was installed, "the coil pad was five by nine feet and was applied between the floor and tile grout," says Sweeney, "it's controlled by a thermostat and warms the floor in front of the tub, vanity and shower."

While the interior lighting is just about complete, the exterior wall mounted Shaper light fixtures are not yet
installed and the landscape lighting is still in the planning stages. Also in the planning stages are a number of upcoming residential projects for Hadley Construction and Knights'
Electric. |
