KENZO CAVES![]() Low voltage lighting in the wine tasting area is controlled by a Lutron Grafik-Eye system. After several months of providing light to the depths of Napa Valley's Kenzo Estate wine caves, Knights' Electric is proud to announce that the project's contract is finally complete. "Caves are unique construction sites and the 40,000 sq. ft. Kenzo cave is no exception," explained Richard Freitas, Knights' Estimator and Project Manager. He went on to explain the unique challenges that come with this type of project; "Most of the conduit work is PVC that is either in trenches in the cave floor or anchored to the cave walls and virtually all of the work is done underground with minimal lighting. In addition, the walls and ceilings are all curved which leads to some challenging layout work." Knights' was responsible for installing all electrical work in the cave, from lighting and power to communication and alarms. Specifically Knights' Electric was responsible for providing and installing electrical sub panels and transformers, lighting fixtures, lighting controls, feeder and branch circuit conduits and wiring, telephone/data structure and the fire alarm system, designing, building and installing the fan control panel including air temperature and CO2 monitoring and installing a CAL-Fire radio repeater system to be used for communications within the cave in case of emergency. Freitas shared, "I'm most proud of the fact that our electricians completed the project with a high level of quality workmanship and attention to detail that was specifically recognized by the electrical engineer and the client." |
TEGG: 5 Years and Going Strong![]() Rob Knight, Art Knight, Barbara Ragsdale & Michael Ragsdale accepting TEGG Award. "Knights Electric has embraced the TEGG System and as a result they are the premier provider of Electrical Preventive Maintenance Programs in their marketing area," explained Lowry Stoops, President of the national TEGG Corporation, "I was, and still am, very impressed with their company. Knights' is a very proactive organization focused on continuous improvement." Knights’ was recently presented with "TEGG's 5-Year Service Award" in recognition of five years as a part of the TEGG network. Stoops was involved with the initial start-up of Knights’ TEGG license and also worked with Knights’ staff members at a TEGG training seminar in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania earlier this year. By complying with TEGG requirements, Knights' Electric is able to minimize their clients' electrical utility costs along with reducing the risk of power outages and electrical fires. Because Knights' maintains TEGG's rigorous technical standards and participates in recurring maintenance programs and training opportunities they are able to provide the highest quality of service to their customers. "It is recognition of our success with a system that has high standards to achieve and maintain," shared Barbara Ragsdale, President and CEO of Knights' Electric. |
